WHERE WE ARE

Il Mulinaccio is located between Radda in Chianti (7km) and Gaiole in Chianti (3km) on the SP2 road, 1.5km from the junction with the SS408 road from Montevarchi to Siena. The property is on a tar road, which those familiar with unpaved access will appreciate.

For those with GPS units the co ordinates are - latitude 43.45950N, longitude 11.41552E.

From Rome or from the north, Il Mulinaccio can be reached with an easy 40 minute drive through the Chianti hills from the A1 - the main north-south Autostrade del Sole. Take the exit at Valdarno and drive through Montevarchi and Gaiole in Chianti, turning right 2 kms after Gaiole on to SP2.

From Florence, you can also take the 4 lane (4 corsie) Blue 2 Road from Florence (starts at Certosa toll plaza) towards Siena and take the San Donato exit. It is then 30 minutes through San Donato, La Piazza, Lucarelli and past Radda in Chianti then right to Il Mulinaccio.

Alternatively, head for the Firenze Sud toll plaza but take the Blue 222 road to Greve in Chianti and Siena - this is one of the most scenic drives you will ever enjoy. About 5 kms after Panzano turn left on the sharp bend through Lucarelli, past Radda in Chianti and then right to Gaiole in Chianti.

From Siena, do the reverse of the 4 lane from Florence, exiting at San Donato, or take the minor 408 road north through Pianella which is quicker. You will find the 408 road exiting Siena towards Arezzo - go to the railway station and follow the Arezzo signs to the third roundabout where you will see the Gaiole, Montevarchi 408 road exit. 2kms before Gaiole in Chianti turn left onto SP2.

Distances: Florence 1 hour, Siena 30 minutes, Castellina in Chianti 30 minutes, Greve in Chianti 30 minutes, Radda in Chianti 6 minutes, Gaiole in Chianti 3 minutes. Arezzo, Cortona, San Gimignano, Montalcino, Montepulciano, Lucca and Pisa are all within an hour – hour and a half of Il Mulinaccio.
