Tuscan Villa Holiday Testimonials

THE MOST IDYLLIC PLACE IN EUROPE
Forbes Magazine & Times Online rate Gaiole & Il Mulinaccio.

forbes

In November 2008, Forbes Magazine conducted a survey of the most idyllic places to live in Europe.

Counting down Forbes’ rankings starting at number 10, were Deia, Majorca; Rome, Italy; Sibiu, Romania; Budapest, Hungary; Burford, England; Ljubljana, Slovenia; Kefalonia, Greece; Copenhagen, Denmark; St Remy de Provence, France; and number 1 was Gaiole in Chianti, Italy.

Il Mulinaccio is 3 kms from the town of Gaiole in Chianti. Who are we to disagree!

Times Online

The 40 hottest villas in Europe

We've hunted down Europe's most popular villas, but don't worry, we've also found 20 stunning alternatives

Italian palaces, villas and farmhouses

Il Molinaccio is an equally fantastic property with seven bedrooms sleeping up to 16 people. It has a private pool and garden surrounded by woodland and is reached by crossing a wooden bridge over a river. The paved area surrounding the pool is furnished with loungers, sun umbrellas, tables and chairs and there are terraces for outside dining. Lisa Leggate says the reason this villa has more availability is because of its secluded location in the Chianti countryside and because local transport is not as accessible as at Villa Mina - she advises rented scooters to get around. Nearby activities include ballooning, horse-riding and cookery schools. The price is £3,007 - £3,957 per week.

GUEST COMMENTS
Reenen (UK)

Overall impression: All the facilities listed on the website and everything we needed during our stay. Cool and tidy with loads of atmosphere. Romano was very friendly and helpful upon arrival and throughout the week, assisting with obtaining medical help and taxi service to Firenze.

Highlights: Chef Matisse preparing dinner at Il Molinaccio one night. Great experience, great food. Stopping off in Gaiole and Radda to buy groceries and enjoy a coffee or beer while watching the world go by. Late dinners on the patio at Il Molinaccio.

Unpleasant surprises: None.

Hi Stephen and Cathy,

We wanted to thank you for such a wonderful experience that staying at your villa gave our family. It was as close to perfect as one could ask for. A magical experience that we will remember for the rest of our lives.
Your home is beautiful and had everything we could possibly want to make our stay there comfortable and your well stocked kitchen was a delight to cook in. The beautiful plates and platters gave our table a truly authentic Italian feel.

The Village of Radda was a lovely village that carried everything we needed and the gourmet delicatessen was an experience to shop at. The locals were so friendly and the twenty minute drive to the large Hyper-market was breathtaking. We really enjoyed our food shopping experiences, so much better than the mundane food shopping at home when all around is new products and beautifully fresh produce. Our meals together as a family at the villa were memorable.

We look forward to staying at the villa again!

The Kerridge family, Cornwall, Dec 2008

We had a wonderful holiday in this fantastic house in one of the most beautiful parts of Italy. The situation and size of the house enabled us to to have the whole family together but gave us space and privacy if we wanted quiet time to think and reflect.

We will take away many happy memories of good food, wine, frosty mornings, the sun rising out of the mist, magical landscapes of vineyards, ancient buildings and old towns. I could go on and on. We hope to be back.

The Callisto family, Perth, Dec 2008.

It took months of planning to find the right house for our family reunion. Il Mulinaccio was PERFECT. It lived up to all our expectations and some. Our Christmas together was wonderful and we spent the week together cooking, drinking local wine, walking, playing and more cooking. We ate like kings and queens all from your wonderful well stocked kitchen. The herb garden came in very habdy as did the wild rocket. We had fantastic meals together.

You have a beautiful home and we loved every minute of our stay. Thank you.

The McLennans, Sydney, Jan 2009

The accommodation was superb, comfortable. Best of all was the camaraderie, the conversations, lunches, dinners and reflection on many subjects common to us all. We had so much fun here.

Tim Fischer, Australian Ambassador to the Vatican, Mar 2009

Just magnificent. Great location in Tuscany with wonderful hosts and superb R and R after busy, noisy Rome. Many thanks.

Il Mulinaccio was my dream come true. A dream for my family to come together, a dream of a lifestyle, a dream of a country and a dream of a home. I fell instantly in love when I walked into the house. It has a really good feel about it. Thank you for making our stay such a memorable one. Please prepare for our return.

We had a wonderful stay at Il Mulinaccio. The house and grounds were even better than we anticipated and it was the most relaxing part of our holiday. We particularly enjoyed catching up with old friends in this great atmosphere and hopefully we will do it again.

This is a magical, beautiful place. I had a most wonderful time relaxing, exploring the stunning surrounding area, swimming, eating and more relaxing. I can’t imagine anyone coming here and not being enchanted. A truly brilliant week.

We have so enjoyed our stay here. Just the best place. Many thanks for our wonderful fortnight’s loan of your beautiful house. It is wonderful, a mini Paradise and we don’t want to leave this peaceful oasis. Truly ‘La Dolce Vita’. We hope very much to be back one day.
